Red Cross Holds SERV Training


Bhubeneswar: Odisha is facing many disasters like cyclone , flood , Land Slide etc every year. Again thousands of people are dieing in road accidents , snake bite , lightening etc. Keeping this in view, under the guidance of secretary Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch C.T.M Suguna ( IAS ) three days Social Emergency Response Volunteer (SERV) Training for volunteers has been started at Cuttack College , Naya Bazar , Cuttack with support from IRCS NHQ and IFRC . Volunteers will be trained in First -Aid , Disaster preparedness and disaster management for three days . Later bolunteers will definitely be an asset for the society in the time of need. Junior Red Cross Officer and Disaster management coordinator Laxman Swain coordinated the program. Trinath Parida and Itishree sundara joined as SERV instructors. Cuttack College Principal Dr. Santosh Pattnaik inaugurate the programme .Red Cross counsellor of the college Kumar Pradipta Mishra encouraged the participants to learn the life survival skills.
