‘KALIA’ scheme is a ‘Lolly-pop’ project without budgetary provision for farmers and general public.

BOTH THE CENTRAL & STATE GOVERNMENT ARE ANTI-FARMER AND ‘KALIA’ SCHEME IS A ‘POLITICAL GIMMICK & LOLLY-POP’ WITHOUT BUDGETARY PROVISION- APPEAL TO SUCCESS ALL INDIA STRIKE ON 8TH -9TH JANUARY.

Bhubaneswar, 25th Dec, 2018:
The leaders of various peasants organisations under the banner of All India Kishan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), Odisha Chapter denounced the so called populist ‘KALIA’ scheme by State BJD Government and said that this is a ‘Lolly-pop’ project without budgetary provision with a view to confuse majority farmers and general public for the sake of election . They expressed their agony against anti-people and anti-farmers polices of both central and state government and demanded minimum profitable support price as per the recommendation of Swami Nathan Commission. They support the call by Central Trade Unions for All India Hartal (Strike) on 8th and 9th January, 2019 against anti-people policies of Modi led NDA government and pledged to success the upcoming All India Strike.
The leaders of different farmers’ organizations organized a press meet today at Utkalmani Sabhakakhy, Bhubaneswar and exposed the crocodile tears and hypocrisy of both the central and state government towards the farmers. They demanded declaration of minimum profitable support price for all agricultural produces by the central government as per the recommendation of Swami Nathan Commission and Rupees 750/- bonus for paddy by the state government. Instead of declaring of populist scheme which has no reality impact both the central and state government should take appropriate measures to free all eligible farmers from the debt trap and assist them to live with dignity. They also demand for a minimum pension for all the farmers after age of sixty for which one can live a meaningful life. On the other hand they demanded to identify, recognize all the share croppers as well as give them all equal opportunities like as farmers.
The leaders like Suresh Panigrahi- Odisha Krushak Sabha(OKS). Krushnachandra Rout- All India Kishan Sabha(AIKS), Ashok Pradhan- Akhila Bharat Kishan Mahasabha(AIKMS), Batakrushna Swain- Akhila Bharat Kishan Khet Majdoor Kishan Sabha(AIKKMKS), Pramod Rath- Akhila Bharat Krantikari Kishan Sabha(AIKKS) and Narendra Mohanty- Chasi- Mulia Surakshya Sangram Parisada(CMSSP) were present at the press meet. They threatened both the central and state government that if they ignore the issues faced by the farmers they will face the consequences like the last election results of M.P, Rajasthan and Chhatishgada.
