Bhubaneswar, Nov 30, 2019 : In a bid to inculcate road safety issues and
create awareness about the traffic rules among school children, Commissionerate of Police (Traffic) organized an awareness programme on Road Safety measures in BJEM School, Bhubaneswar. Attending the
programme as the Chief Guest, Ms. Sagarika Nath, IPS, DCP (Traffic)
Commissionerate Police along with her team members Mr. K. K. Panigrahi,
ACP, Mr. Swastik Panda, ACP and Mr. Dillip Kumar Swain, IIC, Badagada
Police Station, explained the need to follow safety rules in a special assembly
of about 3 thousand students. The Principal of the school, Ms. Sandhya Jena
extended a warm welcome to the honourable guests and expected the
students to be aware of the basic traffic rules to be observed while driving on
roads. The DCP Ms. Nath said that children are future of India and they
should develop a sense of responsible driving for the safety of society. She
urged the students to insist their parents to wear a helmet while riding a two
wheeler, to wear the seat belt while driving a car, to avoid using mobile
phones while driving and to follow traffic discipline. On behalf of the school
management, Mr. P. K. Jena addressed the students to learn and abide by the
basic traffic rules in order to save their precious lives. The traffic pledge was
also administered under the leadership of the DCP. The august presence of
the Chairman, School managing committee, Mr. Raghunath Mishra and
supervisors Mrs. Shibanee Pattnaik and Mr. B. P. Paikaray and staff of the
school was highly encouraging. The honourable guests were presented with
tokens of love on behalf of the school. The Vice Principal Mrs. Pallabi
Mohapatra offered vote of thanks to all for their benign presence on the
occasion. The entire programme was conducted by Mr. Digant Pattnaik,
CSPD teacher of the school in association with all the staff members.
